Unlike the marian rosary which is prayed on 5 decades (10 Hail Marys) reflecting on 5 mysteries, the rosary of St Joseph is prayed on 7 beads reflecting on 7 mysteries of St. Joseph. PRAYER TO ST. JOSEPH
To you o blessed saint Joseph, we come in our trials, and having ask the help of your most holy spouse we confidently ask your patronage also. Through that sacred of charity which united you to the immaculate virgin mother of God and through the fatherly love with which you embraced the child Jesus , we humbly beg you to look graciously upon the beloved inheritance which Jesus Christ purchased by his blood and to aid us in our necessities with your power and strength. O most provident guardian of the holy family, defend the chosen children of Jesus Christ. Most beloved father, dispel the evil of falsehood and sin. Our most mighty protector, graciously assist from heaven in our struggle with the power of darkness. And just as you once saved the child Jesus from mortal danger , so now defend God’s holy church from the snares of her enemies and from all adversity. Shield each one of us by your constant protection so that supported by your example and your help, we may be able to live a virtuous life to die a holy death and to obtain eternal happiness in heaven. AMEN
NOVENA PRAYERS TO ST JOSEPH
This prayer should be said every day for 9 days consecutively
Glorious Saint Joseph, spouse of the Immaculate Virgin, pray for me to have a pure, humble, charitable mind, and perfect resignation to the divine Will. Be my guide, my father, and my model through life that I may die as you did in the arms of Jesus and Mary.
Loving Saint Joseph, faithful follower of Jesus Christ, I raise my heart to you to implore your powerful intercession in obtaining from the Divine Heart of Jesus all the graces necessary for my spiritual and temporal welfare, particularly the grace of a happy death, and the special grace I now implore: (mention your requests) Guardian of the Word Incarnate, I feel confident that your prayers on my behalf will be graciously heard before the throne of God.
