Are you going through challenges that seem impossible to overcome: physical ailment declared untreatable by a doctor? Crashed business without hope of revival? Failed relationship or marriage in which you and your partner hardly speak to one another? Are you of the habit of seeing problems rather than solutions? What is that insuperably difficult circumstance in your life that makes you forget that difficulties are opportunities brilliantly disguised by God? Do you know every possible thing came from the impossible world? If this is too deep, read slowly…

Jesus went off to the other side of the Sea of Galilee – or of Tiberias – and a large crowd followed him, impressed by the signs he gave by curing the sick…It was shortly before the Jewish feast of Passover. Looking up, Jesus saw the crowds approaching and said to Philip, ‘Where can we buy some bread for these people to eat?’ He only said this to test Philip; he himself knew exactly what he was going to do. Philip answered, ‘Two hundred denarii would only buy enough to give them a small piece each.’ One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said, ‘There is a small boy here with five barley loaves and two fish; but what is that between so many?’ Jesus said to them, ‘Make the people sit down.’ There was plenty of grass there, and as many as five thousand men sat down. Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks, and gave them out to all who were sitting ready; he then did the same with the fish, giving out as much as was wanted. When they had eaten enough he said to the disciples, ‘Pick up the pieces left over, so that nothing gets wasted.’
POINTS FOR REFLECTION
1. Child of God, the feeding of the 5000 men by Jesus demonstrates God’s power over quantity. How could so little feed so many? Like Philip, we raise questions when humanly speaking, the situation before us seem impossible, and we forget that what God cannot do does not exist! We forget nothing is impossible for God (Lk 18:27) and become weak even to dare or take a step or leap of faith.
2. If nothing is impossible for God, then every impossibility is a creation of man! We create impossibilities in our minds and make it happen by our actions! If this is true, then we can actually make those humanly impossible things become possible through faith and right action. This is what the young boy with barley loaves and two fish did by sharing his meal.
3. And so, instead of seeing impossibilities, see opportunities and make yourself an agent to actualize it because every challenge before you is an opportunity for invention and innovation. It is an opportunity to exercise one’s faith in God and rest in His sovereignty since nothing is impossible for God.
TASK: That something is invisible for you now does not make it impossible to attain. Remember always that every visible or possible thing now was once invisible and impossible. If you are sensing impossibilities around you, pray with the words of the Prophet Jeremiah now:
Oh, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you. (Jer 32:17)
Say 7 times: Lord, nothing is too hard for You regarding (mention the difficulty). To you I surrender this impossibility from this day and confess I’M POSSIBLE in Jesus name. Amen!
