CLP Ilorin Ignites Easter Joy at the Kwara State Orphanage

“Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble…” — James 1:27

This Easter season, Come Let’s Pray Catholic Family Ministry, Ilorin (CLP Ilorin), set out on a mission to ensure that the message of the Resurrection reached the little ones who need it most. In a day defined by laughter, prayers, and boundless generosity, our team visited the State Orphanage in Kwara State, turning a simple holiday into a landmark of hope.

A Celebration of Family and Faith

The atmosphere at the orphanage was transformed as our members arrived, bringing not just supplies, but the warmth of a family. Our time with the children was a beautiful reminder that Easter is about the triumph of love.

The day’s activities were centered on holistic support:

  • Spiritual Upliftment: We spent time in heartfelt prayer with the children, speaking words of life and encouragement over their futures. It was a moment of profound connection, reminding them that they are seen and loved by the Almighty.

  • Essential Provisions: To support the daily well-being of the children, CLP Ilorin donated a significant haul of food supplies and toiletries. From nutritious staples to hygiene essentials, these gifts were aimed at easing the burden of the facility and ensuring the children have what they need to thrive.

Honoring the Vessels of Mercy

This outreach was a labor of love, coordinated by a team of dedicated women whose passion for service is truly inspiring.

To Our Coordinators: A massive thank you to the leadership in Ilorin for their tireless efforts in organizing this mission:

  • Caroline Leo Ewedemi – Coordinator, CLP Ilorin.

  • Christiana Bokpe – Assistant Coordinator.

  • Okinedo Felicity Elo – (Media Representative) For  capturing this beautiful event, and for your invaluable support and commitment to the success of this day, God bless you.

To Our Spiritual Director: We extend our deepest gratitude to Rev. Fr. Simon Onyekachi Madu, OSJ, the Founder and Spiritual Director of Come Let’s Pray Catholic Family Ministry. Father, thank you for your vision and for teaching us that our prayers are most powerful when they are accompanied by action.

To Our Donors: To everyone who contributed food items, toiletries, and funds—you were the hands and feet of Jesus this Easter. Your generosity directly impacted the lives of these children, and for that, we are eternally grateful.

Beyond the Celebration

As we left the State Orphanage, the smiles on the children’s faces remained etched in our hearts. CLP Ilorin remains committed to being a beacon of light in Kwara State, proving that through faith and collective effort, we can make the world a kinder place for the most vulnerable.
