“Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no compassion for the child of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you.” — Isaiah 49:15
On Saturday, the 16th of May, 2026, Come Let’s Pray Catholic Family Ministry, Zambia (CLP Zambia), stepped through the heavy gates of the Correctional Service Headquarters in Lusaka, Zambia. Our mission was singular, deeply emotional, and profoundly urgent: to seek out the most vulnerable, hidden souls within the facility—the innocent babies born into prison walls and the mothers raising them behind bars.
While the world carries on outside, a prison cell is an incredibly difficult place to nurture a new life. This Easter season, CLP Zambia chose to bring the tangible light of the Resurrection into those quiet spaces of confinement.

A Mission of Comfort, Dignity, and Prayer
The atmosphere inside the facility shifted as our team arrived, bringing the warmth of a family to mothers who often feel isolated and forgotten by the outside world.
Our time with the mothers and their little ones focused on three vital areas of support:
-
A Gentle Touch and Fellowship: We sat with the mothers, held the beautiful babies born in the facility, and listened to their stories. In a place defined by cold stone and iron bars, our members brought a maternal warmth, reminding these women of their inherent dignity.
-
Essential Provisions for Mother and Child: Raising a baby requires specific resources that are hard to come by in prison. CLP Zambia distributed a vital consignment of specialized toiletries and nourishing food items designed to keep both the infants and their mothers healthy, clean, and comfortable.
-
Prayers of Hope and Healing: We gathered in circles of deep, earnest intercession. We prayed for the absolute protection and future of the children, the reformation and emotional healing of the mothers, and the restoration of their families.

Honoring the Vessels of Mercy
Executing an international ministry outreach within a high-security state facility takes immense coordination, faith, and logistical dedication.
To Our Exceptional Local Leadership: We extend our deepest gratitude to the leadership team of CLP Zambia who worked tirelessly with state authorities to grant us entry and organize this beautiful day:
-
Theresa Kangwa Mwila – Coordinator, CLP Zambia.
-
Gladys Mutale – Assistant Coordinator. Your passion, resilience, and shepherd hearts made you the perfect instruments for this divine assignment.
A Vote of Thanks to Our Spiritual Guide: We raise a profound voice of thanksgiving to the Founder and Spiritual Director of Come Let’s Pray Catholic Family Ministry, Rev. Fr. Simon Onyekachi Madu, OSJ. Thank you, Father, for your continuous spiritual covering, your visionary leadership, and for constantly inspiring every global chapter of this ministry to seek out the forgotten sheep and love them with the heart of Christ.
To Our Precious Donors and Members: To everyone who purchased diapers, baby food, toiletries, and contributed financially—you did this. Your donations were transformed into direct answers to the prayers of a mother weeping in a cell. May God reward your incredible generosity.
Shaking the Foundations with Love
As we left the Lusaka Correctional Service Headquarters, we left behind full storehouses and covered hearts, but we took with us the unforgettable smiles of babies who deserve a bright future. CLP Zambia remains completely committed to this path of radical charity, knowing that when we love the least of these, we love Christ Himself.
