Time is one of the mysterious forces in the universe because everything is bound to it, but sadly, many take it for granted. Part of our weakness as three-dimensional creatures held bound by mass, space and time is that we see time as a “changing entity or moving thing”. But in the Spiritual realm, Time is not seen as something changing but static and this explains why spirits can be at different places at the same time.

To understand and key in to ‘Spiritual Time’ we need to see Time (a creation of God) as something that reflects God’s attributes: just as God is consistent in whatever he does (thus we say God does not change), so also Spiritual Time should be seen as “consistent or repeated events”. Is this too deep to understand? Read slowly:
1 kings 18:36-40
At the Time when the Evening offering is presented, Elijah the prophet stepped forward. ‘O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel,’ he said ‘let them know today that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, that I have done all these things at your command. Answer me, O Lord, answer me, so that this person may know that you, the Lord, are God and are winning back their hearts.’ Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the holocaust and wood and licked up the water in the trench. When all the people saw this they fell on their faces. ‘The Lord is God,’ they cried, ‘the Lord is God.’
POINTS FOR REFLECTION
2. This hour of evening sacrifice falls after midday (the 6th hour) and corresponds to the 9th hour following Jewish 12-hour reckoning of day and night; which is present-day 3.00PM. (Josephus in Jewish Antiquities, book 14, chap. 4, sec. 3.)
3. It was this same hour God sent his Angel Gabriel to answer the prayers of his prophet Daniel (Dan. 9:21). It is at this hour that Psalm 141:2 says our prayer rises up to God like incense! And in the New Testament, it was this same hour that God sent his angel to the Centurion Cornelius to reveal to him that his prayers were acceptable and pleasing (Acts 10:2-3), and God, through the instrumentality of Peter and John, healed the crippled man at the beautiful gate (Acts 3:1-10).
4. It was this same hour that JESUS who fulfills the Law and Prophets (Matt. 5:18) dies on the cross like the lambs sheared at yearly Passover feasts with the words of Psalm 22 on his lips: My God, My God, why have you forsaken me; which is usually the Psalm sung by Jewish rabbi as they slay the lambs! And great things followed: power was released over the universe and deliverance from the bondage of the grave was experienced! (Matt. 27:46-51).
5. When you experience consistency of evil activities in your life you are worried and moved to suspect a spiritual problem somewhere. Consistency in Set-Time prayers connects you to Divine Liberation, healing, and favors!
TASK: As God is consistent in what He does, when studying the Scriptures, we shall find corresponding elements of consistency in the spiritual realm. Make it a constant practice to offer Set-Time Prayers!
