C.f Acts 5:17-26

The high priest intervened with all his supporters from the party of the Sadducees. Prompted by jealousy, they arrested the apostles and had them put in the common cell. But at night the angel of the Lord opened the prison gates and said as he led them out, ‘Go and stand in the Temple, and tell the people all about this new Life.’ They did as they were told; they went into the Temple at dawn and began to preach…

POINTS FOR REFLECTION
1. Child of God, Peter and John were arrested and imprisoned because they preached the Truth of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. But their miraculous release confirms the Word of God that says:

If you abide in my Word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the Truth shall set you free (Jn 8:31-32).

2. The Truth is not just mere words of a fact or statement. The Truth is a Person and that Person is Jesus for he says: I AM the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6). The Truth is God himself and God sent his angels to rescue Peter and John from the prison with the instruction: first, ‘to stand in the TEMPLE’ and ‘to continue teaching the TRUTH.’ By this He meant, SERVE the Lord in holiness PREACHING, TEACHING and SPEAKING the TRUTH always.
TASK: Child of God, are there enemies around you who wants to bring you down? Serve God in holiness and righteousness, and He will save you from the hands of your enemies. Pray Psalm 18 now. God bless your day.
