“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” — Matthew 19:14
This Easter, Come Let’s Pray Catholic Family Ministry, Kenya (CLP Kenya), sought to bring the light of the Resurrection to a place where courage is witnessed every single day: the Paediatric Cancer Ward at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) in Nairobi.
While the world celebrated with feasts and fanfare, our members stepped into the quiet hallways of the oncology wing to share a message of hope, healing, and divine love with some of the bravest warriors we have ever met.

A Day of Smiles and Spiritual Strength
The atmosphere in a children’s cancer ward can be heavy, but on this day, it was transformed by prayer and laughter. The outreach focused on two main pillars:
-
The Power of Presence & Prayer: Our members spent quality time by the bedsides of the children and their parents. We lifted their spirits through heartfelt prayers, asking for the intercession of the Divine Physician for total healing and strength for the families navigating these difficult journeys.
-
Easter Gifts & Toys: To bring a touch of “home” and play to the hospital environment, CLP Kenya distributed carefully selected gift items. From colorful toys that sparked immediate smiles to essential “goodies,” the goal was to let every child know they are seen, loved, and cherished.
Seeing a child’s face light up at the sight of a new toy—even amidst treatment—was a powerful reminder that joy is a vital part of the healing process.
Honoring the Hearts Behind the Mission
An outreach of this sensitivity and scale requires a dedicated team, and CLP Kenya is blessed with incredible leaders and supporters.
To Our Leadership Team: We extend our deepest appreciation to the coordinators who steered this mission with such compassion:
-
Anne Onyango – Coordinator, CLP Kenya.
-
Marion Onyango – Assistant Coordinator.
-
We also appreciate the efforts of Anna Nyaga and Catherine Ndegwa for leading the team and Magdalene Wanza our media representative for capturing the beauty of this day God bless you all.

To Our Spiritual Father: Our profound gratitude goes to Rev. Fr. Simon Onyekachi Madu, OSJ, the Founder and Spiritual Director of Come Let’s Pray Catholic Family Ministry. Thank you, Father, for teaching us that our prayers must always be accompanied by a heart that reaches out to the suffering. Your vision continues to bloom across all continent.
To Our Donors and Members: To everyone who donated toys, funds, and time: you were the reason these children smiled today. Your generosity provided more than just physical gifts; it provided a sense of community to families who often feel isolated by illness.
A Legacy of Love
As the Easter season continues, we carry the memories of the children at KNH in our hearts. Their resilience inspires us to keep praying and keep serving. CLP Kenya remains committed to being a beacon of light in Nairobi and beyond.
