“I was in prison and you visited me.” — Matthew 25:3
This Easter, the message of the Resurrection—of chains breaking and new life beginning—was made manifest in a powerful way. On the 14th of April 2026, Come Let’s Pray Catholic Family Ministry, Nasarawa (CLP Nasarawa), took the spirit of the season behind the walls of the Nigeria Correctional Service in Lafia.
A Resurrection of Liberty
Easter is a season of second chances, and for five individuals at the Lafia Correctional Center, that promise became a reality. The highlight of the outreach was the official release of five inmates, whose fines were settled through the collective generosity of the ministry.
Witnessing these individuals step into the sunlight of freedom was a profound reminder of the mercy of God. To ensure their journey toward a new chapter started on the right foot, CLP Nasarawa also provided transportation grants for each of the released individuals, ensuring they could return home to their families with dignity and ease.

More Than Just a Visit
Beyond the legal interventions, the day was filled with the warmth of Christian fellowship. Members of the ministry spent time with the inmates, offering words of encouragement, shared prayers, and a reminder that their past does not define their future in Christ. It was a mission aimed at restoring not just physical freedom, but spiritual hope.
A Heartfelt Note of Gratitude
An intervention of this magnitude requires immense coordination, sacrifice, and faith. We wish to extend our deepest appreciation to those who made this “miracle in Lafia” possible.
To our Leadership: We salute the tireless efforts and visionary leadership of our Nasarawa chapter executives: Barr. Elizabeth John Audu – Coordinator, and Miranda Kwaghshir – Assistant Coordinator. Your dedication to the logistics and spiritual preparation of this outreach ensured its resounding success.

To our Global Founder: We are eternally grateful to Rev. Fr. Simon Onyekachi Madu, OSJ, the Founder and Spiritual Director of Come Let’s Pray Catholic Family Ministry. Thank you, Father, for fostering a ministry that doesn’t just pray, but takes the light of Christ into the darkest corners of society. Your guidance continues to be our compass.
To our Donors and Members: To the silent heroes—our donors—whose financial contributions broke these chains: may the Lord replenish your pockets a thousandfold. To the members of CLP Nasarawa who braved the day to stand in solidarity with the incarcerated, your presence was the greatest gift of all.
Faith in Motion
As we celebrate the empty tomb, we also celebrate the empty cells left behind by our brothers who have been given a fresh start. CLP Nasarawa remains committed to the corporal works of mercy, proving that when we come together to pray, we also come together to change lives.
